About Grace

A century of God’s grace in Banning.

Grace Lutheran Church has worshiped, served, and shared the Gospel in the San Gorgonio Pass since 1920.

Our story

Serving the Pass since 1920

Our congregation was organized in Banning in 1920 and has worshiped at our current location since 1962. Grace serves Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon, Cherry Valley, Oak Valley, and the greater San Gorgonio Pass area.

We are a member congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We gather to receive God’s gifts, proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, foster Christian fellowship and love, and extend a helping hand in human need.

What we believe

Christ at the center

Grace believes, teaches, and proclaims the truths taught in the Holy Bible.

Grace, not achievement

Every person falls short of God’s law. Forgiveness cannot be earned; it is God’s gift received through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus for you

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took our place and died to rescue us from sin. In Him we receive mercy, forgiveness, and the sure hope of eternal life.

God’s Word and Sacraments

God creates and sustains faith through His Word, Holy Baptism, and Holy Communion. These gifts shape our worship and life together.

Walking together

As an LCMS congregation, Grace shares a common confession of Christ rooted in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.
